This year, for the first time, we had the opportunity to take part in the Long Night of the Churches, and we were delighted to have this chance to make faith in Jesus visible in the heart of Innsbruck.

OUR PROGRAMME IN WALTHER PARK

Blessed with beautiful summer weather and a steady flow of visitors, we offered a varied programme in Walther Park and invited people to engage in conversations and encounters centered on matters of faith.

The evening began at 7:00 p.m. with a colourful children’s programme featuring minute-to-win-it games, a humorous children’s theatre performance, and plenty of fun for children aged 5–12.

At 8:00 p.m., the Bible took center stage during a 30-minute open-air service. Alongside a short message on its uniqueness, several young Christians shared what the Bible means to them and how it continues to shape their lives today.

The second service, at 9:00 p.m., addressed the question: “Has science buried God?” The presentations highlighted that faith and science are not mutually exclusive but rather complement one another. Scientists from the University of Innsbruck shared how their research enriches and motivates their faith.

Between the programme sessions, drinks and finger food provided opportunities for fellowship and conversation. Many visitors took the opportunity to ask questions, engage in discussion, and have meaningful personal conversations.
