What happens when around 50 children aged 8 to 12 and over 25 employees encounter 500 kg of LEGO® bricks in two days? Exactly! In no time at all, the world’s most beautiful 10-metre-long LEGO® city is created. In addition to a football stadium, church, harbour, airport and much more that makes up a city, numerous skyscrapers and imaginative dream houses are built. Many a “house builder” could certainly make use of one or two of these ideas.
In addition to building a city out of LEGO® bricks, there are games, snacks, lunch, fresh air, singing together and even Bible stories re-enacted with LEGO®. The various groups allow time for discussion, questions and building friendships. The grand finale on Saturday afternoon is the presentation of the jointly built LEGO® city. Parents, relatives and friends have the opportunity to marvel at the masterpiece and gain an insight into the past few days.
At our Baptist Church, we have been organising this project together with Bibellesebund Österreich for several years now. Why? Because we are convinced that God still speaks to us today through His Word and that He loves children.
