This year’s theme is “Experiencing the POWER of the Gospel“. The Gospel is the good news of God’s love for us humans, with Jesus Christ at its centre. The Gospel is:

  • saving: The Gospel saves us humans from our sinfulness – like a lifebuoy saves us from drowning.
  • personal: The Gospel reconciles us with God, gives us an identity as beloved children and makes us his friends.
  • transforming: The Gospel changes us more and more, making us more like Jesus Christ. Symbolically speaking, it transforms us into a beautiful butterfly.
  • spreading: The Gospel has been spreading throughout the world for 2,000 years, carried from person to person and bringing blessings wherever it is accepted.

With this year’s topic we have several different aims. We would like to …

  • … deepen our understanding of the Gospel.
  • … experience personal growth in faith through the Gospel.
  • … lament together the apparent powerlessness of the Gospel.
  • … pray for God’s saving work through the Gospel in our country.
  • … experience how God saves people through his goodness and power.

Together, we would like to (re)experience the power of the Gospel in us and through us.
